Ella Rodgers

Opening for Jazz is Dead, December 2023

Ella made a grand first impression to the fans who'd gathered to hear Jazz is Dead in Columbia, SC. Her professional debut was a grand success which proved that her presence and performance could hold concert-goers' attention. It was a performance that, as the emcee predicted - they would not soon forget! At the age of 15, Ella began performing at retirement homes in her area and enjoyed it so much that she spent her 16th birthday playing for those that had given her a place to hone her skills over the last year. She still performs for these communities at least once a month, and still says its her favorite audience to play for.  Since making her professional debut opening for Jazz is Dead at the end of 2023, Ella had performed at venues in both her home state of Georgia and in the northeast. Her ever-evolving personal style has recently been captured in her second album, which she re-recorded entirely in November of 2024, having first recorded it a year prior. "Party Line" is expected to be released in Spring 2025, and features 12 original compositions.

Bobby Lee Rodgers

a family passion

Well-known guitarist, singer and songwriter Bobby Lee Rodgers, a founding member and creative force behind The Codetalkers with Col. Bruce Hampton fuses rock, funk, jazz and blues into a magical musical tapestry.

He was one of the youngest instructors of Jazz Studies with the prestigious Berklee College of Music yet it is performing that absolutely fuels his energy.  Whether rocking out to his own compositions in the jazz or jamband scenes or presenting his unique interpretations of musical greats such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane or Wes Montgomery, guitarist Bobby Lee Rodgers is staking out a legendary path with fans and critics alike. His unique sound and stylings are garnering a growing popularity wherever he performs.

When performing with his daughter, Ella Rodgers, who grew up surrounded by her dad's unique musical explorations, Bobby and Ella create a one-of-a kind authentic sound which combnines midcentury jazz and pop with an original feel all their own. As a Father-Daughter duo with Bobby on the guitar and Ella on piano and vocals, it's easy to see why audiences both young and old, and everywhere in between, tap their feet to their feel-good music created from the heart.
